Plant Science Research Classroom Laboratory and Greenhouse

Everyone from AP biology students to our JK classes can grow plants year round in this state-of-the-art lab. The building’s greenhouse is equipped with evaporative pads that use the captured rainwater for cooling. This unique feature maintains the delicate ecosystem in the greenhouse by combining the natural cooling properties of evaporating water with an efficient circulation system.

O’Hara Family Research Lab

Our hope is to make an impact today, and also, to continue growing our STEM program in the future. The O’Hara Family Research Lab facilitates the long-term exploration of STEM research and experiments. Under the diligent supervision of MICDS science teachers, it’s designed to accommodate ongoing experiments and collaboration with visiting scientists, such as Washington University School of Medicine, Monsanto and the Danforth Plant Science Center.
